Revealing the Secret: How to clean deeply?

Times are tough and so are the stains on your counters. Thinking about deep cleaning? Here’s how to do it in a professional manner.

To be honest, many of us have been locked up in our homes for months now and our houses are not looking any cleaner with each passing day. Because we are not going out, our rooms, our kitchens, and our bathrooms are being used more. More usage means more grime and harder to clean surfaces. All those bits of pencil shavings and crumbs are now frequently piling up under shady spots. Cleaning all this mess can be really tricky as everyone in the house is on their toes – attending to one chore and then jumping to the next. So there’s pretty much no way out of this except deep cleaning, especially during these times when everyone is concerned about hygiene and disinfection. The next question that comes to mind is how to do it? The answer is simple: prepare beforehand and gather the required supplies.

Most of these cleaning jobs can be easily done with few items. Household cleaning products such as a mop, a vacuum, cloth rags, paper towels, microfiber, and a multipurpose cleaner are enough to get the job done. If you are thinking about using your own formula for this purpose then by all means go for it. You can mix one pint of rubbing alcohol, half cup of white vinegar, one teaspoon of dish soap, and ample water to make the solution. This can turn out to be a good cleaning formula for whole house.

What about bathrooms?

When it comes to cleaning bathrooms, using bathroom cleaners would be an ideal choice. Many focus on cleaning showers, toilets, and bathtubs as a part of their bathroom cleaning routine but often overlook certain spots such as drains. We usually tend to ignore the drains unless a clog or odour demands attention. To avoid a problematic situation it’s better to clean it regularly. However, you’d have to gear up by wearing gloves. Pull the gunk out and then pour in any cleaner, follow up by pouring hot water. You should also focus on the area where the bathtub meets the tiles. Using a specific tile cleaner would help you clean easily. Apply the said cleaner; let it sit for some time, and then scrub with a tooth brush that is not in use. Letting the cleaner sit for the required time is extremely important as the chemical then works effectively and scrubbing later on becomes easier. After you are done with scrubbing then rinse well and check for worn out tiles, consider grouting if required.

Cleaning floors

Once you are done with audience-prone surfaces then move your way down to the floor. The cleaning method depends on the material of the floor. If you have floors made of stone, ceramic, or wood then vacuuming and mopping is the way to go. However, if you are cleaning hardwood floors then try not to use a completely wet mop because too much water can be damaging for the wood. For hardwood, one can also use approved floor cleaners. Just make sure to check the label. You should also use cloth at the end of the mop rather than using the mop itself because it’s easier to change the dirty cloth instead of changing the mop itself.

Cleaning carpets

While vacuuming carpets, make sure to remove the furniture so that you are able to reach all the surfaces and deep clean like you mean to. If your carpets appear grimy and are even smelly it would be a good idea to sprinkle some baking soda over and let it sit for half an hour, use vacuum afterwards. You’d be amazed to see the results.

Once you are done with deep cleaning, try to maintain a schedule of lighter and frequent clean-ups in the future. Doing so would help you avoid putting in extra effort every time you plan for deep cleaning. So these are some of the secrets that you need to know to keep your house shining and sparkling during this pandemic. What other tricks do you know?
