Importance of Disinfecting the Bathtub
Most parents know the importance of a bath tub to their babies. Bathing your babies in the tub provides them with a comfortable washing. Over time, the hygiene and cleanliness of the bath tub is affected by soap scum and bacteria. To remove the development of bacteria after multiple uses, cleaning the baby bath tub is an important task. Regularly disinfecting the bath tub is an important step in ensuring you are always prepared for the child’s next bath.
Dettol Professionals have some advice to help you keep bathing a safe and enjoyable experience for your little one and your family.
- Cleaning the bathtub: After every bath or shower, clean and disinfect the tub with Dettol Healthy Bathroom Power Cleaner Trigger Spray, which is designed to remove soap scum, dirt and bacteria and leave behind a pristine tub, safe enough for your baby to bathe in. Ensure the product is completely rinsed off before the baby is seated in the tub.
- Bathtub mat: Your rubber bathtub mat is designed to catch water, leaving it susceptible to gathering mold and bacteria every time it is exposed to moisture. Mold can cause respiratory problems, allergies and other health problems if it’s not contained. And while mold affects people of all ages, it can wreak havoc on those with weak immune systems such as children. So if you see bath mat mold, kill it on first sight. An easy way to clean bath mats and make sure your child’s bath is good, “clean” fun is to spray with ASL triggers and brush it after every bath to avoid accumulating mold-causing germs and bacteria.
- Bath Towels: A nice plump towel, perhaps being warmed by a radiator or heated towel rail, is a lovely thing to dry your baby with after a warm relaxing bath. But whatever you do, don't consider letting someone else use it, even the mother and father. Germs can sit on a towel for hours. In fact, a towel is rather a good spot for them to be sitting as it's in a slightly damp atmosphere. Therefore, make sure you always wash and disinfect it. You can simply do so by adding 1 cap of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid to the washing machine drawer prior to starting the wash.

For the sanitization of fabrics in the laundry: dilute ASL at a ratio of 1: 40 in water
