5 Tips for a Clean Classroom for teachers

Follow these 5 tips for a clean classroom to keep your kids healthy.

A clean classroom is one of the first steps to stopping the spread of germs and pathogens in schools. Read our Dettol® tips for teachers to a clean and healthy classroom.

1. Clean and disinfect regularly

At the end of the school day, disinfect germy areas of the classroom. These include desktops, computers, the pencil sharpener, the reading nook, and any other space that students share. UseDettol® Disinfecting Wipes and Dettol® Disinfectant Spray for general sanitization. Dettol® 4-in-1 Surface Wipes are great for the harder, tougher messes that can occur in the play areas.

2. Help custodial staff by keeping a tidy room

Have your classroom ready to clean by keeping clutter to a minimum and storing loose school supplies in a separate cupboard. This allows custodial staff to maneuver throughout the classroom so that they can better clean problem areas.

2. Encourage kids to wash their hands regularly

Make sure your students wash their hands, and not just after using the restroom. Kids should wash their hands before snack time and lunch, and as often as possible around activities where they will be in contact with one another.

3. Keep the supplies handy

It can be hard to have a whole class of kids regularly wash their hands, so it is a good idea to have a hand sanitizer available in your classroom. If your classroom has a sink, make sure it is well-stocked with an antibacterial soap, such as Dettol® Touch of Foam.

4. Send students home when they are sick

And not just the kids who say they don’t feel well – monitor your class and note the children who sniffle, sneeze, and cough more often than usual.

A clean classroom is one of the first lines of defense against the spread of sickness in schools. Keep your class healthy and strong with these germ-fighting tips!
